Wheere convinces EDF and TotalEnergies: indoor geolocation at the heart of VivaTech 2025

Montpellier-based deeptech Wheere, which is taking part in the 2025 edition of the Vivatech trade show, has reached a new strategic milestone: EDF and TotalEnergies have integrated its indoor geolocation technology into their respective programs. This announcement underlines the growing recognition of a solution designed to meet the concrete challenges of safety and performance in industrial environments.

Technology designed for complex environments

Specializing in precision indoor geolocation, Wheere offers a solution capable of locating individuals or equipment to within one meter, over an area of 1 km² with just four antennas. Unlike traditional technologies, which are often inoperable in closed or dense environments, Wheere overcomes the usual constraints by combining performance, reliability and low infrastructure.

" Indoor geolocation responds to real problems in the field: it's a major challenge for safety and profitability in many sectors. The interest shown by international manufacturers is proof of this" Pierre Bolzonello, Wheere Sales Director.

EDF and TotalEnergies fall for this innovation

  • TotalEnergies has chosen to integrate the solution into its R&D program, in particular to enhance the safety of isolated workers and optimize the monitoring of autonomous robots operating on its industrial sites.

  • EDF, the world's leading producer of low-carbon electricity, has launched Wheere into a phase of experimentation designed to select the most effective technologies for protecting its teams and ensuring the safety of its facilities.

These collaborations illustrate the growing need for robust indoor localization solutions for critical infrastructures.

Spatial ambition alongside industrial deployment

Alongside these partnerships in the field, Wheere is stepping up its spatial development with the recruitment of a Space Program Manager. The medium-term objective is to launch a constellation of satellites dedicated to indoor positioning, in order to offer positioning continuity in all circumstances, comparable to that of GPS outdoors.
