Wheere is the technology best suited to the sector's needs
The geolocation technologies currently available on the market have certain limitations, particularly in complex environments such as those found in Industry 4.0.
GPS: Although GPS is very effective and easy to use outdoors, it does not work indoors, as GPS signals do not penetrate buildings.
Bluetooth, Ultra Wide Band (UWB), WiFi, RFID: These technologies do not penetrate obstacles well, and have a short range. To cover an industrial zone, it is often necessary to deploy several hundred or even several thousand transmitters, making deployment complex and costly. What's more, these systems are not very long-lasting, due to heavy maintenance and the need to change the configuration of transmitters each time the layout of your site is modified.
Why are traditional geolocation technologies not enough?
