Outdoor geolocation involves locating an object or individual in an outdoor environment, generally using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) such as GPS (USA), Galileo (EU), GLONASS (Russia) or BeiDou (China). Geolocation is based on the reception of satellite signals emitted by an orbital constellation, and enables position to be estimated with an accuracy ranging from several meters to a few centimeters, depending on the correction technologies applied (DGPS, RTK, etc.).
