3. Purpose of the application
The Wheere app allows location data provided by a Wheere tracker, collected via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
The application is used to view the tracker's position for professional and operational purposes.
4. Location data and technical operation
Data collection
The application collects location data transmitted by the Wheere tracker via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) so that it can display it on a map.
This location data is then transmitted via a cellular or Wi-Fi connection cellular or Wi-Fi to Wheere servers, using the MQTT.
Data collected:
- Unique Wheere tracker ID, enabling its technical identification
- Spatial location data (X, Y, Z coordinates), associated with a timestamp
- Tracker status data, including battery level
Data processing
Location data is processed for the following purposes:
- Real-time or delayed display of the tracker's position on a map
- Normal operation and optimization of Wheere services
- Maintenance, diagnostics, and technical debugging of the solution
Legal basis for processing
The processing of personal data is based on:
- The performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures between Wheere and the end customer (Article 6.1.b of the GDPR)
- Wheere's legitimate interest in ensuring the security, maintenance, and improvement of its services (Article 6.1.f of the GDPR)
Where required by law, location data is processed on the basis of the user's consent. user's consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.
Access to data
The data collected is intended for:
- To end customers using the Wheere solution to view location data
- To authorized Wheere employees, strictly within the scope of their support, maintenance, debugging, and service improvement duties. This access is strictly limited to authorized persons and subject to confidentiality obligations.
- To technical service providers of Wheere, in particular the hosting provider OVH, acting as subcontractors within the meaning of the GDPR
The data will not be transferred or sold to unauthorized third parties.
Shelf life
Location data is stored:
- For the period strictly necessary to provide the service
- Then archived or deleted in accordance with applicable legal, contractual, and technical obligations
The exact retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the data and the customer's operational needs.
5. Protection of personal data
Data processing carried out via the application is performed in accordance with:
- In Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 (GDPR)
- Under Act No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, as amended relating to information technology, files, and civil liberties
Location data may constitute personal data when it allows for the direct or indirect identification of a natural person.
Rights of data subjects
In accordance with applicable regulations, all individuals concerned have the following rights:

- Right to data portability

6. Security
Wheere implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data, including:

7. Intellectual Property
The Wheere application, along with all of its components (software, interfaces, graphics, maps, trademarks, logos, content), are protected by intellectual property law.
Any reproduction, representation, modification, or use, in whole or in part, without prior written permission from Wheere is strictly prohibited.
8. Liability
Wheere strives to ensure that the information provided via the application is accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that it will be completely free of errors or interruptions.
Wheere shall not be held liable in the event of:
- Temporary unavailability of the Application
- Malfunctions related to communication networks (BLE, cellular, Wi-Fi)
From improper use of the Application by the user
9. Applicable law and competent jurisdiction
These legal notices are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute and in the absence of an amicable resolution, the competent courts shall be those within the jurisdiction of Wheere's registered office, subject to applicable mandatory legal provisions.
Wheere is a registered and protected trademark.
